The Rockies
In a peaceful and beautiful Colorado valley straddling the Yampa River, Steamboat offers a big choice of terrain from easy-riding greens to adventurous backcountry skiing. Although less easily accessible than some Colorado resorts, the slightly longer journey is more than compensated by the end result. Steamboat has an excellent snow record and it is the birthplace of the expression "champagne powder". Steamboat's ski terrain is located across a six-peak resort area; Mount Werner is the most challenging, with access to expert runs including double black diamond chutes. You'll discover beautiful gladed runs and groomed cruisers in abundance, as well as steeps, bumps, terrain parks and open meadows filled with powder.
